Poster
Background:
I recall the time when creating an artwork involved the use of phototypesetting and screened images that were carefully cut with an X-Acto, then pasted onto a cardboard to achieve a clean and beautiful black and white design layout. My design talents and experiments allowed me to turn most desired formats, whether they were business card, ad, flyer or poster, into eye-catching graphics. So, with a strong eye for every detail and new techniques from the digital world today, my artistic momentum has kept rolling!
Design Statement:
Prayer poster for church.
Design Challenge:
This poster prayer was initiated to encourage congregants to come and worship in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Recently designed with a combination of vector images surrounded with serif and sans serif types, it took me 2 versions of design works to come up with the final result. From Illustrator to Photoshop, I wanted to grab viewers' attention with a fiery glow of the Blessed Sacrament, so parishioners can take advantage to visit and pray during the exposition of the Eucharist.
The curved type was achieved in Illustrator then finalized with intricate retouching in Photoshop to fill in some gaps showing within the letters and the 3D illustration. I had to alternate the image of the Blessed Sacrament below, so that the digital print reflects a stronger gleaming golden brass color when done.
